Workers’ Compensation Court Ruling

Resources > Hot Spots > Workers’ Compensation Court Ruling

Greetings,

We wanted to make you aware of some changes to the workers’ compensation law, passed in 1996. The Pennsylvania Supreme Court voted to remove key parts of this law that could cause your company to see an increase in workers’ compensation insurance rates.

The PROTZ decision strips away the cap on disability periods thus leaving the potential for workers’ compensation claims to become permanent total cases.  To learn more about the decision and how it could impact your company please refer to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette article. For further understanding, please reach out to your dedicated Account Manager or Donna Greiner, President of our Absence Management Division at 412-237-2032 or dmg@babbins.com.
