Every Child, Inc. Are Taking Over!

Every Child is pumped up about the Spark Pittsburgh Challenge. Last year we finished strong and at the last minute went from 9th place to 5th place with over 10 million steps! We are running, walking, and biking to the finish line this year with hopes to do even better!

Every Child’s (everychildinc.org) mission is to build a stronger community by empowering families through family support and clinical services. We provide in-home structural family therapy to walk along families as they recover and work through their behavioral health diagnosis. We also recruit and train foster families to provide a safe and nurturing home for kids who desperately need one. We provide in home services to families that are struggling with trauma, domestic violence, addiction issues, and other challenges that may make their home unsafe for some period of time for their child. We work with them to ensure a safe, healthy loving family environment. We serve over 1,600 children and families each year from Allegheny and surrounding counties. Our services are provided at no out-of-pocket charge to families and are tailored to families’ individual needs.

In our services, we know how important mental and physical health is to everyone. An active life helps children, teens, and adults in our care manage stress, anxiety, and depression, as well as a variety of other health issues. It lays the groundwork for better long term well-being. Being able to focus on physical wellbeing and overall health, (mental and physical), builds essential life skills, including leadership, teamwork, and discipline.

Our organization has a commitment to wellness and it is led by our Office Life Committee. Over the last year, we have hosted a wellness fair for our employees, and sponsored teams for the Great Race and Pittsburgh Marathon. We have many opportunities for our staff to participate in our #WellnessWednesdays! We offer yoga and strength training in the office, weekly walks, and healthy food fairs throughout the year.
