Lincoln Learning Solutions “Steps” Up Their Game
We had the opportunity to interview Doug Sharp, Senior Manager of Marketing and Communications for Lincoln Learning Solutions, a nonprofit organization offering Prek-12 online curriculum and educational services. He has been part of the marketing department at Lincoln Learning Solutions for the past 10 years. In his free time, Doug is an avid runner and enjoys spending time with his family.
Given how active Doug is, it was a no brainer for him to be involved in the Step Challenge this year. Between running, keeping up with his family, and coaching youth soccer, it made perfect sense for him to add his steps towards his company’s overall total.
Doug’s reason for running, is to set new personal records each race. During each 5k, 10k, and half marathon, Doug aims to beat his previous time. All of the hours he’s spent training and the miles he’s pounded into the pavement have enabled him to contribute a massive amount of steps towards his team’s scoreboard.
One might assume that Doug’s total number of steps would discourage some of his coworkers from actively participating, but as we have come to learn, Lincoln Learning Solutions’ employees are extremely competitive and very supportive with one another.
Doug’s advice to all of the companies who may have wanted to participate this year but didn’t, is to definitely do it! It has the capacity to bring your employees together while creating a friendly and fun competition.
